From Guadalajara to New York
"From Guadalajara to New York - De Guadalajara a Nueva York" is a bilingual children's story that introduces the best of two cities: Guadalajara, Mexico and New York City, USA. This book was inspired by my daughter. Like her, many children in this country come from a bicultural family. Usually the 'abuelos' are not able to speak to them in English or the grandchildren are not able to communicate very well in Spanish. It's my hope that this book will help them to create an emotional bond by reading and learning together about the beauty of the country where they live and the country where their families came from. The amazing illustrations are from my good friend Silvia Rivadeneira Hinckley. She really captured what I wanted to express in this book. I still remember our first conversations and the vision for this short story. Thank you for your talent. |

"De Guadalajara a Nueva York - From Guadalajara to New York" es un cuento bilingüe para niños que introduce lo mejor de dos ciudades: Guadalajara, México y Nueva York, USA. Este libro fue inspirado en mi hija. Como ella, muchos niños en este pais vienen de una familia bicultural. Usualmente los abuelos no hablan Ingles o los nietos no se pueden comunicar muy bien en Español. Es mi esperanza que este libro ayude a crear un lazo emocional al leer y aprender juntos acerca de la belleza del pais donde viven y del pais de donde vinieron sus familias.
Las hermosas ilustraciones fueron pintadas a mano por mi amiga Silvia Rivadeneira Hinckley. Realmente me ayudo a capturar la visión que tenia para este libro. Aun recuerdo nuestra primera platica y las ilusiones en este proyecto. Gracias por tu talento. |
